The Internet has basically changed the way we live our lives.
Many decades ago people even could not imagine that soon will appear the “Internet” and most things will be based on it.

What we do most with the internet is search and that’s because search is really the gateway to everything else we do online. As my main topic is about online marketing and Search Engine Optimization, in this article I will try to supply some basic information about the SEO. Now we’ll walk through the principles of Search Engine. Search Engine Optimization is the process of making improvements on and off your website in order to gain more exposure in search engine results. And more exposure in search engine results will lead to more visitors finding you for the right reasons. In order to understand what improvements will affect search engine results, that’s go back and understand what is the main goal of search engines.

Search Engines are just trying to find and understand all the content out there on the Internet, and then quickly deliver relevant results on any word or a phrase that a user might be searching for. So, if you want your website to be on a high position in search engines, you should consider three things when choosing your keywords:

  1.  relevance
  2.  search volume
  3.  competition

When a user searches for something like Armenian restaurants, search engines want to show a list of results that are relevant to the topic of Armenian restaurants. Search engines will consider and analyze all of the web pages that they’ve ever visited and take the pages that they believe are the most relevant to Armenian restaurants. The first thing you need to do when you are deciding whether a keyword is relevant to your business or not, is to ask yourself a simple question: does this keyword show the nature of the services that I offer? The best way to understand your customers’ search things is to out yourself in their situation. Imagine a simple situation from your daily routine. If you were in the phone shop to buy a telephone, how would you use a search engine? I think you would not type the word “telephone” and click “search”, instead of that, you’d use something specific for what you are looking for like “IPhone 6S. Now if you are selling IPhone 6S and you have a page on your website dedicated to them, than that is a good and relevant keyword.

While “IPhone 6S” might be extremely relevant to your business, it’s also not typed into a search engine very often. Search volume is the number of searches per month for a particular keyword, and if you use a tool like the Google Keyword Tool, there you will see the average number of searches for the recent months.

Keyword competition is the measure of how difficult it will be to rank for a particular keyword. The competition for a keyword can vary depending on how popular the keyword is. And what means the competition in search engines, is just how difficult it’s going to be for us to rank in front of our competition on a search engine results page.
