Are computers already smarter than humans?

Computers can be more intelligent than humans in terms of learning and problem solving. Steven Hawking has said, “The development of full AI could spell the end of the human race.”

So who is smarter – a human being or a computer? This answer is very complex. Computers are certainly more adept at solving quandaries that benefit from their unique skillset, but humans hold the edge on tasks that machine simply can’t perform. Artificial Intelligence is rising on a tide of hype. Improvements to the technology have produced some apparently impressive advances in fields such as voice and image recognition, autonomous robotics, etc.
What do humans have that our machines don’t? While we talk about computers, robots and Artificial Intelligence and there is nothing like being served by someone who seems to genuinely want to be serving. One of the reasons that we are so impressed with robots, automation and self-service technology is we’ve been trying to create space between brands and customers for years.

Now let’s discuss what robots can’t do. Robots are good at routine, but cannot be as good as a human being. Machines are excellent at carrying out routine tasks, but people do it better. In the very near future it will be possible for a computer to draw the plans for the design of an apartment or a house. Present day computers do not possess creativity. They cannot create anything new. Some managers afraid that the big data hype will limit their own right to be creative. Big data needs human creativity before it is capable of giving added value. The data alone is worth very little. It is the way creative people use the data that generates innovation and added value. Without human creativity, the best that data can do is to assist in the optimization of whatever already exists. In spite of the computer’s being powerful, useful and helpful, people will always be faster than computers because that’s what humans are optimized to do. Maybe sometime many years in the future, computers will catch up with humanity’s ability to define new categories — but nowadays, humans will have learned how to harness computing to augment their own native capabilities. That’s why we will always stay smarter than AI.

We hope our article is interesting for you. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Kind Regards,
TCO team
